Good morning everyone,
I am writing this update in my winter pyjamas on a chilly and rainy morning. In the last 72 hours,
Portugal has been hit with some horrific storms over the past two days, and although where we are living was only hit lightly by the winds,Other areas have been devastated.Canadian actress Catherine O’Hara died yesterday, only 71 years old…I am still processing this as I see amazing tributes to her life work everywhere…I can’t think of a favourite comedy of mine that she was NOT in…The Epstein documents have been released, with not much info about any of the perpetrators, but seemingly the opposite, private information and names released about victims, that up until now, had never been public…A different kind of shitshow…Innocent people are being shot in Minnesota,ICE is everywhere, Americans are fleeing to Portugal ( and probably other places…) in masses,Food and property prices are going through the roof..I’m not even mentioning Russia,Ukraine,Iran, Israel….I don’t know what to say, It’s a huge pit of sadness. From what I can see from where I am, Mark Carney has given one of the best speeches I have ever heard, and it seems like the whole world is watching to see if the Dark Forces that be, can encourage Alberta to leave Canada.
Woah,I need a nap.
So there is all of this going on, and when I stop to think about all of the sad, and pain, and fear, it makes it hard for me to validate my continuing and overwhelming need to create pretty music and connect with other people who also have this need…
As my need to do this grows, I am connecting with as many wonderful people as I can, from SO many places, with so many experiences…

I am sending everyone who reads this my love, and a little bit of my heart…Please hug your people, your gorgeous human children and pet children, hug your neighbours (unless that is too weird),your family ( Mom and Dad, I will do that this summer for 6 weeks!)…Speak to people in the store, make small talk, hide your phone ( I’m one to talk…I HATE this thing, and I am glued to it),laugh outloud, make eye contact, embarass your self, I find it endears people to you ( me)…
Try to keep your self small and cozy, and look after your immediate people, if we all start there, that can’t be a bad thing…There are so many different causes to support, its hard to wake up and leave the house…And I am sure, somewhere if there was an overall evil plan, this is it- If we are all scared in our homes, the ‘other team’ has won.
I have a fabulous show coming up next Thursday…I am a complete wreck, worrying that no one will show up…I always worry about this.
I had a cozy rehearsal yesterday with Margarida, (Daisy Dazes) who will sing Bg vocals and play percussion…She is hilarious and awesome and its always so nice to spend time with other female singers…We always end up sharing the ridiculous things we do to check if our voices are still working…heeehee.
Since I don’t get to play withTina Jones here ( Miss you Hones) since she lives sooooo far away– I have to find 2 wonderful people, to do the magic that Tina does…So for this gig, Paulo Carmo, who is the trumpet teacher at H & S’s school, will be proving the trumpet for this gig…I love trumpet and Pop songs..They seem to go hand in hand for me…
Last week I had the great opportunity to attend the Radio Wigwam Radio Awards, hosted by Tony Moore.
This was my second time attending, and I LOVED every minute. I had a nomination for Solo International act…I was nestled in with 14 other nominees, who are all fantastic…I received a third place, which I am thrilled about…On top of this and even more exciting, was getting to hang out with some friends of mine from a bunch of different bands, talk about music, about our dreams and plans, and dance our collective asses off, to 5 great bands…
While I was at the awards, I spoke with Christian John about the possibility of me having a ‘Take-Over’ show- my dream ( One of them) is to put together a radio show, that shares the music of all of my talented friends I have made music with over the years…So I will be working on this very soon.
Later in the month,Feb 19th I am returning to Warsaw to play again at La Boheme in the Zoliborz neighbourhood.I get to play with Tomas Pfeiffer on guitar…It’s also Chris Aiken’s Birthday month, so we will be celebrating this…Chris recorded and produced Shadows and Lines.</span>

Radio Wigwam Awrds 2026
I will end the month of Feb with a Portugals concert here in Lisbon…I have been in this acapela choir now for a year and a half, and I love it…It makes me feel wonderful, singing in a small room, with a bunch of lovely people…You can’t HELP but feel there is hope in the world, and that intrinsically, we are all loving people.
